Colleague discount on packaged bank account
50% off your monthly account fee
As a permanent or fixed-term member of staff working for NatWest Group, you can get a 50% discount on one of our range of packaged bank accounts. You can choose which account you add this to (either sole or joint).
A packaged bank account is a current account that comes with added benefits such as travel insurance, car breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance, for a monthly fee.
I already have an existing discount
If you have an existing discount, you do not need to reapply and your fee will automatically change to 50% from May 2022.
Before you apply – check you’re eligible for the discount
To be eligible for this discount you must:
- Have a Royal Bank/NatWest Select Silver, Reward Silver, Select Platinum, Reward Platinum account, or an Ulster Bank (NI) ufirstgold account
- If converting to one of these accounts, please ensure that you have received confirmation that your account is open before you apply for a discount
- This discount can’t be applied to a Reward account, Black account, or Premier Reward Black account
- Be a named account holder on the Packaged bank account
- Be a UK resident
- Don’t already have a discount (it’s 1 discount per colleague, either a sole or joint account)
- Be a permanent employee or on a Fixed term contract with NatWest Group. Contactor or Contingent Workers, including Day rate contractors, Agency/Temporary staff, Managed Service Workers, On Call staff, who are not NatWest Group employees are not eligible for this discount
What do I do if don't have a packaged account?
If you don’t already have a packaged bank account with us, you first need to open one, switch to us from another provider, or change a current account you hold with us, to one of our packaged bank accounts. You can do this online:

Please make sure that you've received confirmation that your account has been converted to a packaged one before you apply for a discount.

How do I apply for the discount?
Once you have a packaged bank account with us, apply for the discount by emailing us on HROnline@natwest.com.
Please only use this email address if you're temporarily out of the business and don't have access to the aplication form on the NWG intranet
If you're in the business and have access to VCS, please apply using the application form which can be found on the intranet at HR > Pensions and benefits > Packaged bank accounts
The email should include your:
- Name
- Employee ID
- Account number & Sort code of the Packaged Bank Account you wish the discount to be applied
If your application is successful, the discount will automatically be applied to your monthly account fee within 5 working days. Your account number and sort code will stay the same and any regular payments or overdraft arrangements are unaffected. The discount will take full effect from your next charging period.
The discount is 50% off the monthly account fee shown in the Fee Information Document and the Current Account Terms. You can find these online
